Professional development opportunity for an existing health and safety professional
Due to increased demand for our services, Ligtas is looking to recruit an existing health and safety professional and develop them to undertake more challenging technical health and safety consultancy work across the UK.
Our target areas to be developed include:
- DSEAR-based risk assessments
- Hazardous Area Classification assessments under DSEAR
- HAZOP / Process Hazard Reviews
- Industrial Fire Risk Assessments
- Delivery of Technical and Accredited Training (preferably)
The Role
Ultimately the successful candidate will work closely with key clients and our sales team to understand the requirements for and delivery of non-standard and specialised health and safety services in a professional and pragmatic manner.
During the development stage of the role, and if required after that period, the successful candidate will be required to undertake more routine health and safety and fire risk assessments to support Ligtas in its current growth as a health and safety partner to a number of well-known clients across the UK.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a combination of formal and informal training as well as being mentored to develop true competence in the targeted areas of high-risk consultancy.
The role will require the successful candidate to undertake consultancy work throughout the UK.
The Candidate
Essential
The successful candidate should;
- Hold a formal health and safety qualification (minimum of NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
- Be Grad-IOSH and be working towards Chartered Membership
- Have at least five years of experience working in an industrial environment, of which at least two years have been within a health and safety-based role
- Educated in the Sciences
The following would be advantageous to any potential candidate;
- A degree in chemistry or physics
- Experience in undertaking fire risk assessments
- Experience in delivering training
- Based in the Midlands / Yorkshire
