We are celebrating our 3rd year as Ligtas this month, in our rich 30-year history of delivering health and safety expertise.
The journey for our consultancy team started in 1992 as National Britannia. Soon we were operating the Health & Safety Executive’s flagship InfoLine information service. As you can imagine, from those early days, we have learned a lot over the years about the importance of providing our clients with peace of mind, expert help, and support when they need it.
Many of our clients have been with us since the beginning of our journey, and we want to thank them for their part in our success today. We are proud of the 30 years of trust-based relationships we have built with our clients. Another reason to celebrate as we raise a glass to you.
The celebrations wouldn’t be complete without also celebrating our dedicated team and how much of themselves they have given to make this anniversary possible. It is our team’s continuous efforts and loyalty that have helped us turn our vision into a reality.
One of our longest-serving team members, Donna McKay joined the business working in our post room. During her time here, Donna has achieved her Leadership & Management Level 5 qualification and is now our Head of Operational Planning, Scheduling, and Administration.
Donna comments “We have seen a lot of changes over the years, but the ethos of putting our client at the heart of everything we do has remained.”
Looking toward the future, Managing Director, Shaun Ashmead, says, “The face of the fire safety sector is undergoing huge change both from a legal and cultural point of view. Following the events at Grenfell in 2017, there is a renewed focus on the importance of accurate fire risk assessments completed by competent assessors with independent accreditation, such as the BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment Scheme.
Ligtas have exciting plans as we continue to innovate and develop our services over the coming year. We continue to listen to our clients’ current challenges regarding the changes introduced by the recent Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act. We take our role as safety experts seriously, which means our clients know they can rely on us for practical advice to help them meet their obligations.”
