Challenge accepted
A valued and respected member of the Ligtas family Tina Smith has decided to take on the three peaks challenge for Prevent Breast Cancer charity on the 17 and 18 July 2021.
Everyone at Ligtas would like to wish her the best of luck on her amazing challenge and we will all be thinking of you on those days.
The climb will certainly be worth it for the views.
Here are the reasons behind Tina’s challenge in her own words.
“I am self-funding and taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge on 17 July 2021. The challenge consists of climbing the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland, and Wales within 24 hours, including travel. The challenge commences at Ben Nevis in Scotland, then on to Scafell Pike in England (which will be climbed through the night), and then on to Snowdon in Wales for the finale.
I am taking on this challenge in support of all those women and men that have been diagnosed with breast cancer and hopefully raise as much money as I can for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer. This will also be a physical and mental challenge for me, as I too was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2020.
Following my breast cancer diagnosis and surgery in 2020, I have tried to remain fit and healthy, and I am extremely passionate about raising awareness about the early diagnosis and prevention of breast cancer. A positive outlook and keeping fit continue to be key in aiding my ongoing recovery.”
I am hoping one day a diagnosis of breast cancer will be a thing of the past. A breast cancer-free future for me would mean that no other person would ever have to receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer
The charity Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing the disease for future generations.
